Marion Bartoli was born October 2, 1984 in France. By 2/2009 she was ranked World No. 11 by the Women Tennis Association. During her career on two occasions she defeated Former World No.1 in Grand Slam tournaments. As she defeated Jelena Jankovic at Australian Open and Justine Henin at Wimbledon Open. Bartoli is well known for her aggressive game and powerful hitting. She uses both hands for Forehand and backhand. Earlier, she played forehand single handed, but due to some trouble, her father who is also her coach, advised her to play forehand shorts with by both hands, and this improves her game. Her playing style is very close to Monica Seles former very famous and top seeded tennis player.
