Alina Kabaeva was born May 12, 1983 in Tashkent. Family legend has it that a young Kabaeva has a very optimistic view of the world, and unlike many of her peers, she began to play sports on their own, and not because she was forced to. The mother of Alina - Love Kabaeva, a basketball player, played in the national team of Uzbekistan's Basketball. Father - Marat Kabaev, an ethnic Tatar, was a professional footballer and played for the team 'Pahtakor'. The girl grew up in an atmosphere of athletic training, duties, fatigue, victories and defeats.
Alina started to engage in artistic gymnastics at 3,5 years. Alina's mother wanted her daughter is seriously engaged in figure skating or rhythmic gymnastics. Strong schools of figure skating in Uzbekistan was not hot, so the choice fell on the artistic gymnastics. The first coaches were Alina Anelia Malkin and Lyudmila Nikitina. When Alina was 12 years old, my mother realized that to fully develop the potential of Alina in Tashkent do not succeed, and took her to Moscow to Irina Viner - the chief coach of Russia in Rhythmic Gymnastics.
