Having broken in to the Crusaders team in 2009, Franks didn’t have to wait long to make his international debut, turning out against Italy in the mid-year internationals.
Franks quickly became a permanent fixture in the All Black front row with his strong scrummaging and mobility around the park hard to top.
Together with elder brother Ben, Franks became part of the 42 sets of brothers to turn out for the All Blacks.
